The isolation of this pandemic is difficult, but mental health professionals are imploring you to please not allow social distancing, and health concerns to prevent you from getting help when you need it!
Many people have been surprised to find the convenience of online (telehealth) counseling alleviates obstacles such as traffic, distance, lack of transportation, and their own demanding schedules, actually making it easier to fully commit and engage in their therapeutic process.
Because I offer online counseling through a HIPAA compliant video conferencing platform, all you need is a computer, tablet, or smartphone, a reasonably stable internet connection and a little privacy. Shortly before your appointment, you’ll receive a link via email, text, or both as you prefer. You simply click the link to access your secure video counseling session and instantly we are face-to-face. Another plus is that no mask or distancing is necessary.
Whether you’re in crisis, or just aware of a specific stumbling block, I offer individual counseling to help you discover, rediscover, or recover your inner strength and peace. We respectfully consider any pressing concerns that affect your ability to enjoy your life, to love, and to continue your personal growth including things like depression, anxiety, emotional/physical/sexual/spiritual trauma, shame, self-esteem, and relational matters.
It is imperative we consider the families and/or circumstances that influenced our childhoods. As children, we learn many things people never intended to teach us. Often, unhealthy, untrue, and sometimes even imperceptible messages learned in our developmental years can greatly diminish our capacity for trust and intimacy in adult relationships. As a counselor, I work to help clients attain some objectivity, understanding and awareness, which are crucial tools required to protect today’s relationships from lessons learned in our past. Couples counseling can provide a safe space in which to strengthen your emotional connection.
